Cialis Can Help Men With Spinal Cord Injuries (part 1)
Start
According to research presented at the Annual Congress of the European Association of Urology, Cialis (or tadafil as it is known scientifically) can be of significant help to men with spinal cord damage and who are suffering from erectile dyfunction as a result. Using a detailed and concise statistical method for measuring the improved erectile function of the participants the end result showed much better results than those participants who used the placebo. In fact over half of all the participants (54%) who used the Cialis said that they had erectile function by the finish of the treatment.
The data on the effectiveness of the Cialis was looked at by using a statistical method called the International Index of Erectile Function or IIEF. The men were asked questions related to a Sexual Encounter Profile or SEP. The questions asked were related to successful penetration and successful intercourse and of course improved erections. The participants were also asked about their tolerance to the Cialis and if they suffered from any adverse events.
With regard to being able to penetrate their partner, the Cialis users on average said that they were able to on just over 3 out of 4 attempts (75.4%) compared to less than half previously (43.6%).The men who were given the placebo pill, successful penetration occured in only 41.1% of the time compared to 44.9% previously. The fact that the second figure is higher is likely due to statistical variations and just tells us that the placebo had no effect on erectile function.
With regard to being able to have successful sexual intercourse the men who took the Cialis reported positive results in nearly half (47.6%) of all attempts this is statistically significant as the baseline figure was only 10.8%. The men who received the placebo had a 16.8% successful intercourse average rate compared 8.6% before taking the placebo. The placebo effect can often be higher than normal in tests regarding erectile dysfunctionÂ
The last area of data collection related to improved erections and in this case 84.6% of the men questioned said that felt that their erections were significantly improved after they had used the Cialis. The placebo patients reported a 19.5% improvement in erections. Overall the researchers noted that over 50% of the men with spinal cord damage were able to have normal erectile and sexual function when using the Cialis.
